Iranian ‘Deer’ vying at Mo&Friese

Iranian short film ‘Deer’ is competing at the Mo&Friese festival in Germany.

Iranian short flick ‘Deer’ has been competing at the 38th edition of the Mo&Friese- Young Short Film Festival Hamburg in Germany.

Directed by Hadi Babaeefar, the film is about “a little boy who has to watch helplessly while his sick brother struggles to remain alive”.

“When his parents take him away to relatives, Ehsan sets off for home again through the snowy night, to defend his brother against the angel of death”, a synopsis for the film reads.

'Deer' has previously participated in several film festivals, including the 72nd edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.

According to the official website of the Mo&Friese, “Each year at the beginning of June the festival presents nine international competition programs. We choose current and relevant short films that meet their target group at eye level and take their personal viewpoint seriously.”

The 2022 edition of the event is being held from May 29 to June 6.
